Opifex delivered the geotechnical design for a major redevelopment at the Sorrento Activity Centre, creating a high‑performance, multiply back-anchored retaining system for a multi‑level coastal structure built into challenging ground conditions.
Our approach combined contiguous piled retention, staged anchoring, and targeted ground improvement to ensure safe excavation and reliable long‑term performance. Special measures were implemented to protect neighbouring properties, including micro‑fine grout strengthening beneath existing footings and walls.
Advanced modelling, close collaboration with the design team, and a construction‑focused methodology allowed Opifex to deliver a robust, low‑movement solution on a constrained and geologically complex site—demonstrating our expertise in premium urban and coastal developments.
